Captive Bred Juvenile Giant Vinegaroon (Mastigoproctus giganteus) [1-1½]
$30.00
When your giant vinegaroon (Mastigoproctus giganteus) still has reddish pedipalps, it’s in a younger juvenile stage, so you want small, easy prey that won’t overwhelm it.
🦂 Best feeders at this stage:
- Pinhead or small crickets
- Small dubia roach nymphs
- Flightless fruit flies (great for very small individuals)
- Small mealworms (occasionally—don’t overdo it)
📏 Prey size rule:
- Keep prey smaller than or equal to the width of its body
- Avoid anything too large or aggressive
⏰ Feeding schedule:
- 2–3 times per week for juveniles
- Offer 1–3 prey items depending on size
- Remove uneaten prey after ~24 hours
⚠️ Things to avoid:
- Large crickets (can stress or injure it)
- Superworms (too strong for small juveniles)
- Wild-caught insects (risk of pesticides/parasites)
👍 Extra tip:
Those red pedipalps will darken as it matures, and you can gradually increase prey size as it grows.
